Sameer Sharma is the Founder and CEO of Somatech LLC, a Virginia-based small business providing technology and professional consulting services.

Sameer began his career in the pharmaceutical industry, where he spent more than 16 years in sales and customer-facing roles with leading global healthcare companies, including Pfizer, Merck, and Abbott Laboratories. His experience working with healthcare professionals developed a strong foundation in consultative selling, relationship management, customer engagement, market development, and communicating complex information to diverse audiences.

Following his pharmaceutical career, Sameer transitioned into the federal technology sector, where he has supported the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a federal contractor. His federal technology experience includes leadership across project and production delivery, Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), Agile SDLC execution, requirements governance, release management, quality assurance, risk mitigation, and operational support.

His experience supporting both DOL and FDA has provided him with extensive exposure to federal technology environments, program execution, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration among government agencies, prime contractors, subcontractors, and technical teams.

Through Somatech LLC, Sameer applies his commercial and federal experience to technology consulting, business development, strategic partnerships, and the pursuit of opportunities across government and commercial sectors.

 

He is particularly interested in emerging technologies, technology commercialization, and public-private partnerships that bring together government, industry, research institutions, and entrepreneurial organizations to translate innovative technologies into practical applications.

 

Sameer holds an MBA from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in Biology from West Virginia University. He has also completed an executive program in cybersecurity at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
